Installations
Below are various installations, which have been carried out recently. They illustrate how solar, biomass and oil-fired boilers can be incorporated into one system for both domestic and commercial applications.
A domestic system consisting of 750L thermal store. The main heat sources are a wood-burning stove located in the living room and an evacuated tube solar system with existing oil-fired boiler as backup.
This photo shows one of our engineers with an installation designed as a small-scale district heating system. The system provides heating and hot water to a large 2-storey dwelling and offices. Incorporated within the system is a moderator log burning biomass boiler, 1500L Akvatherm thermal store, Navitron evacuated-tube solar system and has an existing oil-fired boiler as backup. (We have shown our engineer as a general indication of size)
This installation shows a system incorporating a 750L thermal store with integrated evacuated tube solar system, the main heat source is a wood pellet boiler with a high efficiency condensing oil-fired boiler as backup. The thermal store also has a hot water secondary return circuit. The dwelling is heated via recessed low energy fan coiled radiators all individually thermostatically controlled.
This installation in 2007 shows the stages of a swimming pool. The pool has array of 8 evacuated-tube solar collectors - the sole source of heating. Within the wooden shed is a plate heat exchanger, filter and pumping station.
